In May, 2015, construction on a steel arch-supported polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tensile membrane stage canopy concluded as part of ongoing construction of the new Waterway Square Place development in Woodlands, TX.
Development of the Waterway Square Place includes a new Westin Hotel, permanent performance stage and pedestrian bridge – the only pedestrian bridge to span the Waterway. The pedestrian bridge and performance stage are the latest features added to the Waterway Square district of Town Center and have been completed in the first quarter of 2016. FabriTec Structures was hired to design, engineer, fabricate, supply and install the steel structure and cabling that supports the stage canopy with a total fabric surface area of approximately 595 square feet. All steel fabrication was completed in FabriTec’s 80,000 square foot fabrication plant in Dallas.
Another FabriTec-designed and built stage tension structure Woodlands residents might be familiar with is the iconic Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, completed in 2009, in collaboration with Horst Berger Architects and Fretz Construction.

Thank you for a successful design, fabrication, and installation of our tensile fabric canopy structure at the Woodlands Waterway Square Stage and Pedestrian Bridge project. The canopy structure is both elegant and functional and compliments The Woodlands Waterway Square.
